Update Your WordPress Site’s Colors for St. Patrick’s Day
Hey guys! So check this out. Why not update your site for St. Patty’s Day?!?! My WordPress themes have the easy capability of customizing the colors. You can follow this same tutorial for any future holiday.
WordPress Theme & Mood Board
To get started, I created a St. Patrick’s Day mood board that you see below. We are going to use these colors for our theme. You can find this mood board and many more in my blog post here. I decided I only want to use 2 colors from the image. Let’s use the green, brown, and yellow. Here are the color codes for those colors:
- Yellow – edc11a
- Green – 64a237
- Brown – 745241
Now we need to pick our theme. I’m going to use one of our Kadence WordPress themes called “Say Yes“. You can find this theme and many more WordPress themes here.
Follow These Steps
- We are ready! Login to your WordPress Dashboard then click on APPEARANCE >> CUSTOMIZE.
- Next click on COLORS & FONTS >> COLORS.
- We are going to change the first two circles under ACCENTS (see the arrow in the picture below).
- First, I’m going to copy the green color code that I mentioned above. Then I’m going to click on the FIRST CIRCLE under “Accent”s.
- Change the HEX CODE to the green color code we copied above.
- Next, follow the same steps above but click on the SECOND CIRCLE to change the HEX CODE to yellow.
- It’s time to use the brown color code. I’m going to change the FIRST 3 CIRCLES under CONTRAST this time. These circles will change the font colors of the theme.
- This is how the theme looks after these changes.
