If you are starting a brand new site for the first time, your site will look nothing like the demo site. Uploading your theme’s demo content is a great way to get started. This will give you a starting point. You will be able to delete what you don’t want and keep what you need.

NOTE: If you already have an established site or are migrating from another platform, please
DO NOT INSTALL this content.

Upload the Theme’s Demo Content

The theme’s demo content includes these samples:

• posts
• pages
• categories
• navigation menus

NOTE: Studio Mommy themes do not come with the images shown on the demo site. You must use your own images.

You can follow along with this video or follow the steps below.

Step 1. In your WordPress dashboard click on “Tools” then click “Import”.

Step 2. At the bottom where it says “WordPress” click on “Install Now”.

Step 3. Click “Run Importer”. If you do not see Run Importer refresh the page then you should see “Run Importer” under WordPress.

Step 4. Click “Browse” then choose the .xml file in the themes folder (see the video above for this step, it will help).

Step 5. Click “Upload file and Import”.

Step 6. Where it says “Assign Authors”… click on “Assign Posts to an Existing User” then choose your user profile.

Step 7. Check the box that says “Download and import file attachments”. Then click “Submit”.

Continue Theme Setup

The demo content cannot setup the Theme Options for you. After the demo content is imported, please follow the rest of your themes tutorial to setup the theme like the demo site.
