Looking for Something?
I know what it’s like to get started. As a blogger myself, I was in beginner’s shoes once. Starting as a new mom who hired a website designer, I quickly discovered that I wanted to make it easy, convenient, and simple for anyone to start their own boss babe empire or develop their passion.
Writing and blogging are two of the most rewarding career paths you can pursue. People do both of these because they’re passionate about them, not just to make ends meet. However without a doubt there will be a time when you get stuck in a rut and get hit with the dreaded writer’s block. Don’t fret though, there are some different tricks you can try to circumvent a blogging rut and navigate back to writing bliss.
1. Take A Break
It may seem counterproductive, but taking a break may be just the refresher that you need to get your creative juices flowing again. Take a walk and get some fresh air. Disconnect from the computer and your cell phone and the rest of technology for at least a day that way you come back revived and ready to write. You never know what inspiration might strike when you’re out recharging your batteries.
2. Have Other Bloggers Guest Post
Sometimes you need more than a day to get going again. It’s only natural, blogging is still a job to do and everyone needs a vacation. Set up a few guest posts while you’re gone so that your blog stays alive and then take some time off to reconnect with yourself. Blogging is one of those careers that is done out of passion; if you’re in a blogging rut then it could be that you’ve just been putting too much into it and you need time to take a break so that when you come back and revisit the reasons why you started blogging in the first place – because you love it.
3. Peruse The News
Research different news that is affecting your niche market in blogging and see if something piques your interest there. If you find a particular piece of news interesting then it’s likely that your readers will appreciate it as well, and it will give you just the information you need to get writing again.
4. Do Something Different
Sign up for a new exercise class or take up a new hobby. Changing up your daily life can be exactly what you need to create a spark for your professional life. Sometimes when we get in writing ruts is because our personal lives have also started to get stagnant. Always keep things changing to keep your mind constantly turning out new ideas.

5. Toss Around Ideas With Other Bloggers
Sometimes you just need to talk it out with other bloggers that you have formed relationships with and see if they have any insight on something that would be exciting to discuss on your blog. The beauty of blogging lies in the community that comes with it and most bloggers are more than willing to help hash out ideas with other bloggers they’ve formed relationships with to help kick-start a rut.
Every blogger will go through a writing and blogging rut from time to time; it’s part of the writing territory. Don’t get too discouraged, it will pass eventually and you’ll be back to cranking out regular blog posts in no time.

Sometimes I get stuck in a rut when designing blogs. I need a refresher so I take the kids to the park or go to the mall. Just being out of the house helps tremendously. I spend most of my time in the house since I work from home. When I come back home my creativity comes back and I feel inspired again 🙂
