In the last blog post, we talked about important things to do before launching your website. Today, I want to discuss things to do AFTER you launch your website. Believe it or not, these six things to immediately do after you launch your website will help grow your following and increase your website traffic.
This post contains affiliate links. I make a small commission if you make a purchase at no extra cost to you.
One of the most important things to do from the start is to create new content related to the products you sell or the services you offer. Content can include writing blog posts that explain how to use your products or teaching your ideal customer something new. Content can also be about services you provide and how they will help your ideal customer. The content you create and share will help you build more of a relationship with your ideal customer, which is important! And, do not forget to answer any comments or questions that your customers leave on blog posts or any other content section that allows comments. Ignoring the comments will only turn the customer away.
I know putting yourself out there can be challenging, but in all reality, it is so important that your ideal customer connects with you on a personal level. Share personal images that include your face on social media outlets. Let your users see the person behind the business.
Another essential aspect of social media is collaborating with other like-minded business owners and following them on social media platforms. Share their posts, retweet their tweets, and comment! It is so important to collaborate with others in your niche! If you need ideas, take a look at my Instagram account.
While there have been heated debates about Pinterest’s algorithm changes and whether or not it can help website traffic, it is still a great platform to promote your website, services, and products. Let’s face it, Pinterest is FREE advertising. It is worth putting effort into creating new pins and publishing them daily. Check out my Pinterest account.
Build your email list and connect with customers by sharing newsletters about your new content. It’s also an excellent opportunity to share your life and struggles. Don’t pitch sales every single time. Sometimes subscribers want to feel that you are connecting with them, not just trying to make a sale. If you are in the beginning stages of creating an email list, check out ConvertKit.
Share your fresh content everywhere. Read Nine Places To Share Your Blog Posts for places to share your blog posts to get in front of more potential clients. There are more places to share your content. This blog post I shared in the past lists some of those places. Another good idea is to guest post on another blogger’s website in the same niche that you are. It’s a great way to drive traffic and gain subscribers at the same time!
If you have not done so already, connect your Google Analytics to your website. This blog post, How to Connect Your Google Analytics To Your Website, will show you how to connect Google Analytics with a WordPress website. Take time to sit down and evaluate your analytics monthly. By doing so, your analytics will help you create content for future posts. Google Analytics will also show you stats liked which posts did better than others. This gives you an idea of what is popular with your audience. You can also see stats like which social media platform directed more traffic to your website, from the best through the least.
Congratulations on launching your new website and taking that first step in growing your business! I hope these things will help you after you launch. Always remember to promote, promote, promote!
I would love to see your new website! Please share your website address in the comments!
