Over the last couple of years, the way people search for information has changed. More people are using voice search. And most of the time they’re using a mobile device.

Search Engine Optimization sounds like it would be hard AF if we had to go at it alone.

Lucky for us though, there are optimization tools we can use to make sure your content is well optimized.

I’ve been using Yoast SEO plugin for a while now. I started with the free version – which that in and of itself works just fine.

The free version will give you suggestions to improve your SEO like:

• If you’re using too many keywords
• Missing alt attributes in graphics
• Whether the meta description is long enough and has proper keywords
• If you’re post is difficult to read

It will even show you what section in the content needs editing. For example, in the screenshot below, if you click on eye icon, it will highlight the part of the post that has consecutive sentences. Cool right?

I loved it so much I upgraded to the premium plugin. For example, now I can:

• Get a preview of what my posts will look like on Facebook and Twitter
• Upload a graphic for each social platform and their dimensions
• Get internal linking suggestions to other pages or posts on your website
• Redirect old URLs to new ones

They also have a new feature that makes sure social media platforms know exactly what your pages are about, by adding schema.org data the right way. And this results in faster indexing.
